Only natural gold nuggets from the streams of the west are used in our gold nugget jewelry. Placer gold (nuggets, flakes and dust naturally occurring in a pure state) is the rarest of gold formations. It occurs only after pieces of gold are broken from exposed veins. Eventually washed into streams, the gold is tumbled, pounded and polished by the action of the water until it comes to rest in a depression or crevice. There it had to wait millions of years until discovered by prospectors.
Being produced at the whim of nature, no two nuggets are alike. The only alteration from the natural state is the soldering of a 14K bail for pendants and 14K posts for earrings. Since each piece is essentially pure gold, the only care needed is to wear and enjoy it.
